I'm having trouble finding any sympathy for anyone who would willingly attend "ApeFest, a music festival run by the company behind Bored Ape NFTs."

[-] GaveUp@hexbear.net 35 points 1 year ago

Honestly, my friend tried to convince me to attend some other crypto music festival that somehow got headliners like Yves Tumor and Caroline Palochek but that was still the easiest rejection I ever gave my entire life

"Hey, you and me are gonna be in charge of the lighting and I got an idea. I have a friend with a hook up to a really awesome lightning system that's less than half of price of our lighting budget. So - we do two things. One, we rent it. Two, we tell the organizing committee three times as good. We juice the budget times 3. The result? We profit. We take home 80% of the pot."

"I don't think your math is right."

"I hate math but I love money. And you love money, too - right? The important thing is that it's money."

"Sounds risky. And couldn't we get in trouble?"

"How? I made 3.7 million US on ShittyApe and I never actually learned any of this shit. I just made a website, wrote up some shit, created fake numbers and waited to collect."

"What do you know about lighting?"

"Nothing. But you plug it in and it works. What's to know?"

"Couldn't something go wrong?"

"Like what? This is ez money, bro. The eziest ever. And what could go wrong?

This is what really happens when you use multiple slurp juices on a single ape.

A number of BamboozleCoin holders who attended Rugpull Inc.'s ScamFest event have reported "drinks that tasted like poop" and explosive diarrhea.

Killing ape holders to increase scarcity and raise the floor price, brilliant

[-] ShareThatBread@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

Ah! My ~~apes~~ eyes!

[-] supafuzz@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago

well that'll be a slam dunk lawsuit

they're gonna wind up with all the apes

[-] Rom@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

Too bad the apes will be worthless by then

[-] supafuzz@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago

are they worth anything now? like, could you turn them into cash? doubt
on paper they're trading for large sums but is that real or just stakeholders keeping a dead asset inflated?

[-] PoY@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 1 year ago

if some one buys it from you then you can go ahead and cash out

i don't think anyone is buying the hot potatoes that are now radioactive

[-] Grandpa_garbagio@hexbear.net 13 points 1 year ago

Some of the dumbest suckers in history though here. Yuga can just offer most of these guys a picture of a grotesque ape and be done with it

[-] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 17 points 1 year ago

They'll make a series of apes specifically accessible to sight-impared people as part of the settlement. The class action will allow the concert attendees special access to purchase the new apes.

[-] Feinsteins_Ghost@hexbear.net 20 points 1 year ago

Could have just gone outside and stared at the sun for an hour, gotten the exact same results, with the added bonus of keeping their money but who the fuck said these guys are smart.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 19 points 1 year ago

At least they didn't have to eat each other like at FyreFest
