I mean, you can make eye contact with it if you want.

[-] EmoDuck@sh.itjust.works 16 points 9 months ago

No, the government will beam harmful rays into your eyes that make them hurt and force you to look away. Wake up, sheeple

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 1 points 9 months ago

All free thinkers challenge the Sky Orb.

What, you're going to let the guvment tell you what to do?

Being stabbed in the eyes by solar rays just sounds badass.

[-] MeatPilot@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

"Stabbed in the Eyes by Solar Rays"

Sounds like a good indie band name.

[-] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 29 points 9 months ago

OP, be the hero we all need, stare directly at the sun and show it who’s the boss for us, the little people. Don’t blink and win that starring contest!

[-] bucketofcandyfloss@thelemmy.club 12 points 9 months ago

I'll save everyone from the orb in the sky

[-] pantyhosewimp@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 9 months ago

Seriously, in like fifth grade was the first time someone told me vehemently not to stare into the sun. Of course, before then, I never even considered the idea. So shortly after that I stared into the sun for long as I could tolerate. I saw spots for days after that.

[-] ivanafterall@kbin.social 18 points 9 months ago

I do question it. I stare it down every morning to keep it in its place. You're welcome.

I am over here, Sir. That is a telephone pole.

[-] ghostface@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

Yes, I agree all non believers in the orb to stare intently at it. Prove the orb believers wrong.

staring at orb comment is not legal advise. Any damage received from Orb Lord, for daring to glimpse the brilliance of the orb, must be dealt with directly with orb

You’re allowed to, but you’ve been warned not to if you enjoy sight.

[-] ekky@sopuli.xyz 8 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Sight is just the price we pay for the eldritch knowledge* staring at the sun gives us.

* Should not have stared at the sun.

[-] Sylvartas@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

(you need to escape the asterisk with a "\" in front of it if you don't want it to be formatted into a bullet point since it's at the beginning of a new line)

[-] ekky@sopuli.xyz 2 points 9 months ago

Right, thank you for the heads-up. :)

[-] BlueMagma@sh.itjust.works 9 points 9 months ago

In France (and probably other countries too) there is an actual real group of people advocating that we can get all our nutrients from the sun and don't need to eat, they also claim they stare at the sun every day for hours. They make youtube video, and have lots of followers...

Of course they claim exactly what is said in this joke.

[-] TseseJuer@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

sungazing and grounding are real

[-] midget247@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

That's a Professor Scott Bugg fact! Stare at the sun for at least 3 minutes a day to fill up on water

[-] Hjalamanger@feddit.nu 7 points 9 months ago

At least it leaves us alone during the night /(**)_

[-] normalexit@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

Big orb bright, hurt eyes.

[-] PeriodicallyPedantic@lemmy.ca 5 points 9 months ago

You're telling me that when you look at the sun, the sun looks back?

You can see the eyes of the sun?!?!

[-] TigrisMorte@kbin.social 3 points 9 months ago

I question that it is an orb, that it is in the "sky", as well as your definition of "direct eye contact".

[-] key@lemmy.keychat.org 3 points 9 months ago

You don't know me, I yell and argue with that shiny SoB every day!

[-] datelmd5sum@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

The sun is actually fake. All Illuminati lies.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 2 points 9 months ago

pokes some holes in a thick piece of cardboard with a sewing needle

I'll make direct eye contact with whatever I want.

[-] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 9 months ago

What are "they" trying to hide from us?
