They just don't give a shit about people. They see people as ATMs and none of the companies will learn until it hits a point people can't afford anything anymore cause prices are so high and wages are so low its impossible to buy anything but the absolute bare necessities.
They used to provide value now they extract it.

The 4 for $4 meal is $6 dollars at my local Wendy's.
This is more than just Wendy's, fast food in general is through the roof now. McDonald's was known for years for its dollar menu, they no longer have a dollar menu it's a $1 $2 $3 menu and the only thing on there that is a dollar is sauces. Fast food restaurants are doing a damn good job at pricing themselves out of the market. I can't remember the last time I went to your typical fast food joint, it's almost always more cost effective to go to a place that offers carryout and just order it ahead. My current go to has been Domino's, I can spend $18 dollars for two burgers a large fry and a drink or I can spend $18 getting 2 pizzas or 1 pizza and cheesy bread or for $4 for more for two pizzas, a thing of chicken and a 2 Liter soda,
There's a hole-in-the-wall taqueria near my work that for less than $4 will nab me two gigantic legit-mexican-street-food style tacos.
Haven't gone to fast food in ages - shit's too expensive. At this point I'm probably around 30% taco.
Best fast food places right now is local no name street food places, me and my homies go to such places, cheap and tasty as fuck
Nonono, you're looking at this wrong. The lunch price is the BASE price! That means that any time other than lunch you're actually getting a discount!
Think of the savings! Isn't it nice to know that this burger which normally costs $25 can be yours for as low as $15.99 if you get it from our late night menu?
If they actually did this and discounted on off hours I might be more sold on it. Not for eating at lunch time, but for getting $0.50 large fries at 11pm.
They'll do that, and then they'll raise base prices. So it'll be $3 large fries after 11PM, but $7 at noon. This is clear to see a mile away, it's just a phased in cash grab.
Massive step back for Wendy's in my eyes who, while they still served unhealthy fast food, I always thought of as the good one.
That's the neat part: There are no good ones.
The owner who cared is dead. The ones who have control now are more interested in profits than trying to be good.
Wendy's used to be the pioneer of the value menu too.
