dark chocolate is all vegan so if you like that then great. if not, there are vegan milk chocolate replacements. like vegan cheese, they don't melt/re-solidify/bake the same way that carnist cheese/chocolate does but chocolate doesn't have the same myriad phase state changes as cheese in cooking so it doesn't matter as much. you can buy vegan semi-sweet chocolate chips and use them in most anything
A lot of US brands that make dark chocolate will often have milk in it. Traditionally it doesn't but just wanted to mention that. Read them ingredients friends.
I’ve certainly had some nice vegan chocolate (that’s not dark that is), IIRC, Whittaker’s Oat Milk choc hit the spot. But from my tastings, a good vegan “milk” chocolate is hard to come by.
For me, I’d gone for dark choc prior to going vegan, so I just stick with that. If it’s dark enough, it’s almost certainly going to be vegan.
I'm gonna leave you with a simple bit of information here, and I hope this helps to give you an idea:
Chocolate, by default, is already vegan.
🙂
I know but I want the creaminess and sweetness of milk chocolate. Thought I might make some with oat milk
Speaking from experience, oat milk is your best bet for that task, so you're already headed in the right direction.
Oat Milk chocolate is really good! I like it better than regular milk chocolate, tbh.
