de-endurance — The same thing they always do: take something from the past that you love and hold dear and shit all over it. Shit all over what was once strong, and proud, and good. Shit all over your ancestry. Instead of King Bowser calling Kammy Koopa an "airhead" like he did in the original release, the new version of the game makes him call her a "lunkhead", instead. It's sickening.

I can't come up with a reason lunkhead would be less offensive than airhead, so I'm guessing this is a result of the game being remade for switch in Japanese and then retranslated, rather than just pulling the translated text from the old version, presumably because there have been changes in general to the game/it would be a pain in the arse.

I think they did. There were a few game releases where they included a later version with all the dlc that others paid for. They just got mad because they paid for something that others how free

You're right, Oblivion definitely had a special edition with the horse armor and everything included ages ago.

I was thinking more along the lines of the games where you can use real money in place of in-game money. Like all of those "live service" games.

I think they just announced it in a direct today or yesterday, but I've been pretty sure it was coming for some time as not long ago Nintendo started cracking down on GameCube emulators indicating they were planning to put out more GameCube remakes. It's one of my all time favorite games too.
