Skywatch Blue / Anti-Alf Aktion (@skywatch.blue) — Bluesky

---

Edit

Somebody can subscribe to blocklists without ever actually talking to the accounts. In other words - if I have a hammer and sickle Unicode character in my bio and those turds have put me in their list - I'm blocked by all the subscribers.

if you can't even write out one of them (the swastika), that's the bad one

That account almost seems like a bit, but I know it's not

If anyone is incredibly bored it could be entertaining to poke the nest and ask why they think genocide denialism is ok.

Equating communism with Nazism (broadly seen by Holocaust scholars as a form of denialism. At a minimum it is absolutely Holocaust/genocide broadly minimizing to pretend the USSR or China are or were participating in anything anywhere near the universe of what the Nazis were doing.)

And, apparently, siding with the genocidal forces of the IOF against legitimate, internationally legal resistance from groups that have been oppressed, ethnically cleansed and now genocided for a century.

Oh also they have a reply near the top of their timeline where they clarify they will not be adding a filter for porn bots. I have nothing to add to that. I just found it particularly funny given that they are apparently so triggered by people saying "genocide is bad, actually" that they made a whole ass filter for it while being fine with "pussy in bio!" spam. I just laughed when I read it.

I didn't see that but I almost left the page because I wanted a thirst trap filter. I scrolled down and then I saw what I screengrabbed.

For a few seconds I thought about interacting with them but I realized that's surely what they want. They intentionally didn't make the items alphabetical. They grouped things like that for a reason. They want leftists to yell at them.

Yeah I mean it could go either way with intent. There are a lot of total dumbasses that have fallen for (rather, had their biases confirmed) "communists are just Nazis!" rhetoric. So to them this shouldn't be incitement.

Like I've seen forum rules for non-political websites that will say like "Anything hateful is an immediate ban. Examples: a swatiska in your pfp. Or typing "Allah akbar"" That's not a hypothetical either. I've actually seen that exact statement in a rule list. I just was like "huh..." the person who typed it up, if I'm being maximally charitable, is probably just some western chauvinist minded, generally agrees with terrorist designations, and doesn't particularly care much about Muslims, has no idea what that phrase means, doesn't care to know, and reflexively thought "oh yeah. This is something bad guys say." as they were typing the rules.

Anyway, here's the porn thing

Yeah, Bluesky blocklists are ripe for abuse. Anyone can make them and promote them for whatever reason, and hundreds/thousands of users blindly subscribe to several when they first sign up.

Consider this a PSA for anyone using Bluesky: avoid using blocklists unless you know and trust whoever is running the list. I know at least one of the big "anti-right winger" blocklists floating around is run by a real piece of shit named brainnotonyet.bsky.social who uses his list specifically to abuse women on the platform - him and his friends stalk and harass leftist women on the platform (while feigning being leftists/radlibs themselves), and then when any of the women speak up, they get added to a blocklist alongside a bunch of 4chan nazis, and then everyone subscribed to the list just stop seeing the victim's posts, even if they follow them.

[-] machinya@hexbear.net 1 points 2 weeks ago

will stop seeing posts even if they follow them

wow, is this real? like, what type of social media is it that you can block your own follows without even telling you explicitly. I get the idea of wanting to get automatic block of specific stuff (even if I don't agree) but having blocklists take precedence over something you actively opted in for makes no sense at all

[-] nasezero@hexbear.net 1 points 2 weeks ago

It's actually a fantastic system if you want to build a social media site where you can serially abuse women and then completely erase them from the timelines of anyone who follows your banlists whenever they speak up about the abuse. Which, given the usual crowd that builds these platforms, that was almost certainly the intent from the beginning. Hell, that's literally what zuck originally made Facebook for doomer

I think I don't get it. What exactly is this account?

Oh OK thanks for explaining. IDK I don't use social media but if this is an opt-in thing for users that seems fine I guess.

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

seems fine

It's not fine at all. It's horrible in fact. The accounts making the lists are in no way vetted. They are just random people (and orgs?) doing whatever they want. Imagine there's a post with say ~20 likes - and I say "The democrats are fucking dogshit." Somebody could put me in a "fascist" list for simply for having an opinion they don't like. Maybe their definition of fascism is horseshoe bizarre or maybe they don't give a fuck and it's just a game for them. They use the list to punish people and opinions they don't like.

I read somewhere that one of the developers of Bluesky was basically a Chinese gusano or something like that so if that’s true it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s some anti communism personally baked in (other than the, yknow, ambient amount)
