International education is so damn important for the US economy, both in terms of importing smart people who will do research and maybe work in the US, but also it just brings in rich foreign teens who pay full price at uni. The US is shooting itself in the foot.
... but also it just brings in rich foreign teens who pay full price at uni ...
i was blown away by how much they pay.
i went to a state university w a bad reputation (playboy magazine ranked party school during the 1990's) and that created a student body that was roughly 50% to 55% foreign. i learned from my foreign classmates and study buddies that they literally paid 15x the amount i paid in tuition/fees and their parents cared nothing about the reputation or subpar education; only that it was an american university..
It's also a way for the US to indoctrinate smart people into serving US interests and following its ruling ideology. People who go to school in the US often go on to publicly defend the US in their home countries and serve in their governments for US interests.
Do we want politically active foreigners on our soil? My only worry is that we are coming after just one side of an argument. I want all the activists out. This is not your country, you are a guest here. Behave accordingly
Hypothetically there is a constitution of this country and the constitution does hypothetically protect foreigners, who are, it turns out, also people with opinions.
Also pretty fuckin rich coming from the regime change country.
"Do we want politically active foreigners on our soil?" There is one doing massive sabotage to your country and you're riding his mangled dick like a rodeo show. Shut the fuck up
