This quote convinced me to read the play and damn, it's fucking incredible. I've seen the part about commodity fetishism get quoted and I think this part just before your quote deserves attention too:

And so in our frozen world, our silent world, we have to talk to the poor. Talk, listen, clarify, explain. They want things to be different. They want change. And so we say, Yes. Change. But not violent change. Not theft, not revolt, no revenge. Instead, listen to the idea of gradual change. Change that will help you, but that won't hurt us. Morality. Law. Gradual change. We explain it all: a two-sided contract: we'll give you things, many things, but in exchange you must accept that you don't have the right just to take what you want. We're going to give you wonderful things. Sit down, wait, don't try to grab— The most important thing is patience, waiting. We're going to give you much much more than you're getting now, but there are certain things that must happen first—these are the things for which we must wait. First, we have to make more than we gave to grow more, so more will be available for us to give. Otherwise, if we give you more, we'll have less. When we make more and we grow more, we can all have more—some of the increase can go to you. But the other thing is, once there is more, we have to make sure that morality prevails. Morality is the key. Last year, we made more and we grew more, but we didn't give you more. All of the increase was kept for ourselves. That was wrong. The same thing happened the year before, and the year before that. We have to convince everyone to accept morality and next year give some of the increase to you.

Here's a link if anyone wants to read the whole thing

It's the same gameplay as the first game: shooting zombies and people en masse behind waist-high cover, crafting items and upgrades, looting everything like a raccoon.

Everything is political, but that doesn't mean that "the revolution" is at stake when your neighbors are being noisy.

If it doesn't strain your eyes then you're not getting the true 3DS experience 😤

There's still copays and stuff and it doesn't cover everything, like dental. But yeah... 💀

The CSET study looked at fab construction between 1990 and 2020, and concluded that for the roughly 635 fabs built in that timeframe, the average time between the start of construction and production was 682 days. Three countries beat that benchmark: Taiwan at 654 days on average, Korea at 620, and Japan at a staggeringly fast 584 days. Meanwhile, Europe and the Middle East were about on par at 690 days, as was China at 701 days.

However, the U.S. clocked in at 736 days, well above the worldwide average and second only to Southeast Asia at 781.

Idk if I'm just a rube, but one month of difference doesn't seem like that big a deal. Also this author says that Taiwan is a country and that environmental protections should be cut to speed up construction.

Apparently this is a hot take: porn should be age-gated.

Nudity isn't the same thing as porn and while you can argue that twitch's new policy bans too much, it's inarguable that many streams were pornographic. Kids shouldn't be suggested streams of girls twerking on their Fortnite website.

Also I think pornhub and similar porn sites should do more to filter out children.

A lot of that whining is just getting what you paid for and then coping with racism. Like, yeah if you buy the cheapest possible stuff you can find it's probably gonna suck. But that's not because Chinese goods are poorly made, it's because cheap goods are poorly made.

Lol yeah the bean counters needed a way to make America look good so they came up with the idea that homeowners are their own tenants and pay imaginary rent to themselves. They also include healthcare costs in GDP so when a pharma corp charges you 30x more for meds, that's good for the economy!!

The US cooks the books on everything it does so it's hard to judge how bad things are truly going, but it means a lot that China's real numbers are comparable to the bs American stats.

Yeah them being above the law is the reason this genocide is happening in the first place. I wonder what it'll take for the rest of the world to hold the US to account for its crimes, or to even acknowledge that they're happening.
