I could be okay, but I also wouldn't purposely get such a large space when I don't plan to fill it with stuff. Just give me space big enough for the matress and desk.

[-] NeatNit@discuss.tchncs.de 18 points 1 week ago

I love that you look at this and say "woah, that's way too much, I prefer less"

[-] RogueBanana@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago

If it means lower rent then hell yeah!

there are teensy tiny municipally-owned apartments available in a city near me for like 200€ per month and i'm absolutely planning to get one if i ever get an income, they're so smol that the "kitchen" is a recessed wardrobe with a sink and like 2 hotplates, which honestly considering how we have perfectly decent bags of frozen meals that you can just toss in a pot for 10 minutes is perfectly acceptable for a single-person household!

[-] De_Narm@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Ain't no home with enough open space for all kinds of push ups! If you're daring, you could even do other exercises too!

[-] hperrin@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 week ago

Throw in a server rack and it’s perfect.

[-] mirisgaiss@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

hell, I wish I had something more like that and not a house full of shit I don't use most of the time.

Boink! Right into the pillar, again

[-] Szyler@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

This is my room, less space and bigger bed. More screens too ofc

[-] DmMacniel@feddit.org 6 points 1 week ago

Out of frame: a huge ass TV and a single armchair.

[-] arrow74@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

Why have an armchair? Just roll the gaming chair over

To be fair, some women would say that too. There's so much room to build stuff and do projects! I could get so fucking irresponsible!

[-] telllos@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

This shit is putting men in a box and " hu duh, men basic, like dog"

[-] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

What would you add other than a better bed?

[-] BigBananaDealer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

mini fridge for beer

And tomorrow they'll post a picture of a 10,000$ gaming setup with LEDs and shit and claim that women can't possibly understand spending a ton of money on furniture and decorations.

Not to mention that this joke has been done to death. For years pictures of empty rooms with a matress have been posted to claim that "this is what men want". (Until next week, when we'll post a picture of a gaming room full of expensive furniture and elaborate decorations and claim that THIS is what men want, actually, for real, I swear.)

[-] superweeniehutjrs@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Needs a motorcycle being rebuilt in it, with that much open space

[-] UxyIVrljPeRl@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Cuts a Wall open, now i can park my car inside.

[-] Zacpod@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Not nearly enough screens.

[-] sdfric88@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 week ago
[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I mean I want a nice armoire too. Not for any particular reason besides bragging.

[-] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

This may be too much even

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Low carbon footprint living gets way more hate than it should (and it shouldn't get any).

[-] rugburn@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 1 week ago
[-] Ilixtze@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

It is just missing a cinder block nightstand and a dead plastic plant to tie the place together.

[-] blarghly@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Dead plastic plant. For when you want everyone to know you are irresponsible, but without the responsibility

[-] banazir@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 week ago

I'm a responsible adult, which is why I only grow living plastic plants.

[-] sundray@lemmus.org 2 points 1 week ago

I bet a Hot Wheels would roll real good on that floor.

[-] ElJefe@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

Yep. It’s a start

[-] SHR@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago

Ahh yes, someone decided to make a spot in the backrooms his home....nice 🤩🍺🍺🍺👍

[-] kieron115@startrek.website 2 points 1 week ago

See, if you budget properly then you can afford to live on your own and have two beds!

[-] Texas_Hangover@lemmy.radio 2 points 1 week ago

I'm too old to be getting down on the fucking ground like that. Needs a frame of cinder blocks and plywood.

[-] Blemgo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

You should do that anyways. Bed frames exost for a reason: it helps to stop moisture building up on the underside of the mattress, and thus prevents mold.

[-] Simulation6@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 week ago

That plus less bugs end up crawling across your face at night.

[-] ZeffSyde@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I'm just thankful for any physical contact at this point.

[-] faythofdragons@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 week ago

To be fair, air mattresses are like shittier futons and don't get moldy because you're always moving them around.

Source: I used to live with this setup, only in a smaller room.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I just smother the bottom of my mattress with lotrimin and figure I'm good to go for a few years

[-] astutemural@midwest.social 2 points 1 week ago

Look at all the space for a mini painting station

[-] ZeffSyde@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I wish I had this much room to practice the blade.

[-] capuccino@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I have that same inflatable mattress.

[-] rottingleaf@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Especially the column in the middle, just cover it with wood and add various hooks, a transformer table (closed normally, open when you want to sip tea without display glow near you) and maybe something to make the space less open while sleeping. I dunno, a cloth instead of a wall.

And if this doesn't have a window, maybe not too good.

[-] zxqwas@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Twice as many mattreses as needed.

I'm a man and all I can see is all the dust this huge surface area will collect
