TIL the great lakes are full of lions.
i immediately assumed this was a joke about a sports team, and sure enough. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Lions
alas, i don't think there's actually Panthera leo running around michigan.
There are a couple, but they don't roam very far.
We got Puma concolor couguar down South though!
Beware! Detroit is full of lions and they will peck at you with their beak and swoop in to snatch your coney. I recommend every visitor bring an atlatl with them.
I love the question marks for Italy, France, and Spain. Here there be ~~dragons~~ lions. Over there? Fuck knows if they had lions or not.

I thought they were just local red markings. Bought it for a moment because maybe savannah in present day middle of Spain.
