Work on my taxes and play Guild Wars 2
I'm gonna work on Factorio and play with taxes.
So just Factorio.
Man I still have to go back and play the last 2 chapters of Secrets of the Obscure. Thanks for the reminder
Crying and trying to work on school
I've been there. Hang in there, adulthood is better.
This is adulthood...
Married 8 years. Worked my butt off when we were dating/engaged and never managed to go to college, but he did. I've always wanted to go. We finally got somewhat stable the last few years, so I enrolled. A little over a year of FT in, I'm busting my ass again, not working at all since I started, because he told me "don't work, just focus on studying and getting good grades, and finish as soon as you can." I'm a fucking idiot. He left me last week with literally no warning. I have no job, no money, no friends, and the only 2 family members I have are 1000 miles away. Been going to classes because I have no idea what else to do but fuck.
I'm sorry, I had assumed you were a young student. I hope that things get better for you.
Whatever my wife tells me
You lucky bastard.
Is it the weekend already? I've been feeling like it's Thursday or Friday, but my computer says it's Wednesday. Is someone fucking with my computer clock? What day is it?
Apologies
It's Thursday 5AM UTC
(Late Wednesday in the Americas I think)
Work has hectic so I'm kinda overzealously looking forward to a break
So my computer was right. Hm.
Made homemade bone broth then drank a big cup of that last night. Haven’t made that in years. Then I massaged the muscles next to my neck, which have permanent knots, while I watched The Expanse.
This morning my neck feels great. I feel great. Feel like I’ve come out of a fog.
Playing dreamcast
Helldivers 2.
It's my wife's birthday this weekend so we're going out with a bunch of friends. This is extra special because we scored a babysitter for our one-year-old, and we haven't really been out together much since he's been born. We're gonna go hard.
That, and Helldivers II, if the servers will let me in.
A few things. Wife wants to go ice skating.
I'm gonna build a greenhouse.
"I DON'T MAKE PLANS I MAKE NOISE"
Saturday I gotta take one kid to parkour but then I get to go to my buddies house and play music. Sunday I have to clean my bathroom and kitchen but then I get to run my weekly RPG. And if I can find time in there, a little Minecraft (we needcan corn farm) and I have a guitar pedal kit I want to start.
we needcan corn farm
Yeah. I don't know wtf that is. It was supposed to say "we need an iron farm". I may have been trying to do too many things at once.
Weekends are when I work 8-hour days at work.
Plant some trees, I hope, and watch some rugby.
Need to catch up on a university assignment, afterwards just relax.
Study
I'm going to a concert Saturday night.
Have a lot of personal projects that I may or may not work up the motivation to work on. In no particular order:
-
Visual novel: I have a general plot and some code but realized I don't know how to write fiction nor any idea on how to write interesting dialogue between two people without the while thing turning into a middle school fanfic.
-
Star Rail Silly Wisher: I've been wanting to make something similar to Genshin Silly Wisher for Star Rail. Art hard though.
-
Crunchyroll watch party syncer: Got something together to sync videos via websockets. Still needs more polish.
Egg retrieval as part of my IVF treatment. So, lots of fun.
I'm learning Gàidhlig and have a speaking exam coming up, so I'm practicing with a friend on the same course on Saturday. Sunday I'm being way less productive and getting together with some friends for lunch and a session of Victoria 2. I'm kinda anxious to get out of the house for a bit too, as weather and illness have kept me stuck indoors for a while
How do you learn Gàidhlig?
I tried self-teaching with some books and Duolingo, but I was struggling to keep a real focus on it and not making any good progress. I live in a part of the country with little in the way of any Gaelic culture, so there wasn't a lot that I could make use of locally either. Turns out the University of the Highlands and Islands does a distance learning course that is very cheap for anyone living in Scotland, so I've been doing that and getting along much better. By its nature it also means I know a few more people that are also trying to learn
Thanks. I’m encouraged to hear that something like this exists, it’s important that some of these cultural things survive
It's way too early to tell
Looking at nature and watching the hockey game.
Taking the kids to an 80s themed escape room!
It's gonna be radical!
Headed to the range with some coworkers.
Driving range or 🇺🇸 range
I don't think I could trust myself with a firearm near my coworkers. Also, I don't think I could trust them with a firearm period.
Freedom range.
Yeah I’m definitely the type that prefers to going shooting alone but I’m also trying to socialize more.
My regular Destiny 2 crew and I are gonna attempt a "Dunge-a-thon", run all 7 available Dungeons in a row.
Workin' and jerkin'
I gotta look after my sister's dogs while she goes to a concert. So, I'll be sitting on a couch writing my book while my sister has the time of her life.
"Catching up on sleep" - the biggest lie of all.
Working on my website and messing around trying to get AMD ROCm to work, so I can run local LLMs faster... Nothing much really
Go camping on saturday. I feel so tired of noise and cars and all of it. I need silence and nature and being in the big outdoors for a bit.
I'm gonna play pacific drive
Rivals of aether tournament tonight (online)
Another rivals of aether tournament tomorrow night (in person)
Casual plans with friends on saturday
Finishing up a short Lancer game on Sunday
Lemmy and movie binging
Will have two shooting competitions on saturday and sunday each. Btw, such questions are also well suited for c/casualconversation :)
I both run and play in D&D games. And probably a trip to the grocery store or Costco.
Aside from that, hang out with the wife. Drink a few beers. Smoke a bit too much.
