"The bottom line is this: The Appointments Clause is a critical constitutional restriction stemming from the separation of powers, and it gives to Congress a considered role in determining the propriety of vesting appointment power for inferior officers," wrote Cannon, who was appointed to the bench by Trump.

Perfect, no notes chefs-kiss

This case legit feels like a trial balloon to see what they can get away with. Even compared to the Supreme Court, Cannon is taking some fucking wild swings with her rulings.

Her reasoning on this might as well be officially documented as "cus I fucking said so, nerd"

Article III judges need to be confirmed by the Senate I believe.

If Trump is an existential threat to democracy and minority groups, maybe betting on stopping him through procedure amidst the courts he himself rigged is a stupid and short sighted plan.

[-] nat_turner_overdrive@hexbear.net 67 points 3 months ago

democrats have been baiting the bear for four years without any intention of sealing the deal and we're all going to have to pay the price for it

[-] Adkml@hexbear.net 47 points 3 months ago

Four years?

Before it was Smith it was Garland, before it was Garland it was Meuller, before it was Meuller it was Comey (that one was extra hilarious how bad it backfired)

Dems are coming up on a decade of their entire oppositional plan being "hope a lifelong republican meber of a three letter aganecy does the heavy lifting to take down a republican president"

So glad they made garland head of doj. Really great job Biden putting in the federalist adjacent guy who only ever came up because Obama didn't fight to get an actual Supreme Court justice in before he left office

It's all theater anyways. He was never going to be truly punished for his actions.

[-] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 43 points 3 months ago

That is kind of like the hush money case, or as many people are calling it, the trump rule 34 case. Democrats keep saying that case ruled that Trump was guilty of 34 felony charges. The sentencing on that hush money case was delayed until mid-September. It's possible that he never gets any punishment, though I think the recent presidential immunity supreme court ruling doesn't protect him here because it was a crime committed during his campaign.

The case that was thrown out today is the one where he hid documents around his estate and refused to give them back when asked by the feds.

I still think this photo rocks.

Arming the genocidal Saudis? No...that's just the day to day of the USA.

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 39 points 3 months ago

C'mon Biden, the courts ruled it's legal for you to drone strike him, do it losers.

[-] robot_dog_with_gun@hexbear.net 25 points 3 months ago

they aren't enemies why would he do a drone strike?

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 24 points 3 months ago

Joe loves murder so he could do it just to sate his unending blood lust.

[-] SoyViking@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

But what if murder doesn't tickle the right spot for Joe when the victim is a rich white guy?

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

Just have to wait for a moment when he confuses Trump with Kamala.

Does the joker ever tell batman the deaths are his fault? That he could have stopped them but by returning him to the same broken system he is allowing him to keep going? I am starting to feel like I need that comic panel as a reaction image

I OD'd on copium like a cop touching fentanyl just by opening that thread. The funny part is, every time there's a thread about BlueMaga, they're all like "we aren't a cult! We don't make up weird conspiracy theories!"

This thread is exhibit A

Biden has a notable interview today. He's really going to have to put on a happy face.

[-] HelluvaBottomCarter@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

If they could just catch him jaywalking, then we could get him. That would be the only thing we need to prosecute.
