Please curse me with knowledge. I'm ready

[-] manucode@infosec.pub 152 points 2 months ago
[-] norimee@lemmy.world 71 points 2 months ago

Oh... wow...ehm...how do I unsee this article?

[-] peto@lemm.ee 88 points 2 months ago

You knew it was cursed knowledge when you clicked on it. Caveat Lemmor

[-] Sylvartas@lemmy.world 22 points 2 months ago

The existence of the lucky 10000 implies the existence of the unlucky 10000

[-] CertifiedBlackGuy@lemmy.world 40 points 2 months ago

WHAT IS LEARNED CAN NEVER BE UNLEARNED.

THIS IS YOUR CURSE FOR USING THE FIRE PROMETHEUS STOLE FROM THE GODS.

[-] dvlsg@lemmy.world 22 points 2 months ago

Idk, I forget shit all the time.

Unfortunately, I usually forget the useful shit I need to remember, not "haha duck corkscrew dick".

[-] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 21 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Now you need to read into the female duck's countermeasures!

Duck sex is really fucked up...

[-] RustyNova@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Was an interesting read. Thanks.

[-] Mnemnosyne@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 months ago

That article reminded me of that politician who said women's bodies would prevent pregnancy from rape. Clearly he had so little contact with women he confused them with ducks.

Cockscrew penises*

Um. Let's say, if you decided to google for duck's penis, you'd be in for a surprise.

[-] Rexelpitlum@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 2 months ago
[-] hsdkfr734r@feddit.nl 4 points 2 months ago

Thanks. That swimming squid penis was news to me.

[-] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 84 points 2 months ago

That is the wrong facial expression. That man would be laughing his ASS off. Like ribs hurting, can't breath laughing.

Who the hell has a counter-clockwise corkscrew!?

[-] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 18 points 2 months ago

Coriolis Effect. Must be a Southern Hemisphere corkscrew.

[-] moistclump@lemmy.world 15 points 2 months ago

Good catch! I had to stare at it for a minute picturing myself spinning it into a cork and it does feel like it goes the wrong way. (Not righty righty).

[-] tetris11@lemmy.ml 36 points 2 months ago

they're pretty common here, you can get one at your local leftorium

[-] Michal@programming.dev 27 points 2 months ago

Last I checked they had none left...

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 19 points 2 months ago
[-] Michal@programming.dev 12 points 2 months ago
[-] Seleni@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Did you feel left out not getting one?

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 3 points 2 months ago

You could always right the situation.

You need these now on account of wine bottles evolving that maze-like cork.

[-] Th3D3k0y@lemmy.world 44 points 2 months ago

The Curse of Knowledge actually relates to educated people trying to communicate with people under the assumption that everyone knows as much as they do, forgetting that the average person might not be as educated

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 38 points 2 months ago
[-] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I actually try to talk to folks to the level of their knowledge. I had a debate with some coworkers about vaccines. I explained to them that it's safe, thousands of studies proved they are, I also mentioned vaccines are produced just like any medicine. And yet people take paracetamol willy nilly without question but somehow treat vaccines differently; even though overusing paracetamol could lead to hearing loss as happened to my dad.

However, I admit that what got me is the mRNA vaccine technology when a colleague said there has been no human trial of it before. The technology has actually been developed for over 40 years but with strong proof of concept. But I find it hard to explain that to laypeople.

[-] essteeyou@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

Yeah, we all know that. ;-)

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

But the stupid uncursed pleb doesn't know that.

I say curse him!
It's for their good, and for the good of human kind.

But boy do some people have high curse resistance.
Over 100%.
Literally impossible to educate (which is the first part of the cursing process).

" Babe, you make me so hard I can literally unscrew a bottle's tap with it"

[-] keepcarrot@hexbear.net 20 points 2 months ago

Ok, but like... Everyone down the chain gets the joke, I don't know what the problem is. Open your wine with the penis thing

[-] ArbitraryValue@sh.itjust.works 19 points 2 months ago

That wine opener was purchased deliberately.

[-] geogle@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago

Try being a geoscientist.... So, so many blurry photos of rocks folks' kids find in the backyard

[-] Classy@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 months ago

Hey what kind of tree is this?

Potato-quality photo of tree from 150 ft away

These people always manage to take immaculate, professional photos of their damn food or their damn kids but somehow revert to monkey when it's time to photograph a plant

[-] zurohki@aussie.zone 12 points 2 months ago

If you show a geoscientist a picture of a rock, does he still lick it?

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 6 points 2 months ago

Various shades of dirt and plants here.

[-] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago

"wine opener" alone sets the education level

[-] propter_hog@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

Wait what's the joke, I'm not an ornithologist

[-] TeoTwawki@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

It's a cork screw eh?

[-] Korbs@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

I hate that I know this too

[-] CrookedSerpent@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago
[-] 0ops@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

OH. I scrolled past this post like 4 times before I got it. Lesson for the other ducks on viagra, follow the directions on the label or you'll end up like this guy.

[-] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago

Some may call it a blessing
