My elementary school was across from "That Road" in another town.

I've always wanted to do the 8 hr drive to Helle and Backe.

[-] arbitrary_sarcasm@lemmy.world 41 points 11 months ago

Yes honey, I'm almost there.

[-] QuantumStorm@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Despite living very near this town, it still makes me giggle every time I see it.

[-] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

That's Butte and Yolo for me.

[-] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 37 points 11 months ago

What kind of troll named the towns in Newfoundland?

There's also a "Dildo" and a "Placentia" on the larger island.

[-] Jimbo@yiffit.net 17 points 11 months ago

Well given that they literally named the place "new found land" my expectations would not be high

[-] Cracks_InTheWalls@sh.itjust.works 15 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Honestly, now that I know Pee Pee island is in the mix, I'm sold on a trip to Newfoundland. Dildo was almost enough to make that happen as it was.

Edit: There's campsites at Dildo Run Provincial Park, btw. Do with that information what you will, people.

[-] bighatchester@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

There's also a town I used to live near called lawn . Also there's a place called bread and cheese

[-] MutilationWave@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

I live not far from Bear Wallow Hollow which in the local dialect is Bear Waller Holler. In my state we also have Fort Gay and the much funnier Mount Gay.

[-] Ilovemyirishtemper@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Yeah, I live near a state park named "Bong." To be fair, it was named after a person. There is also a Wang Town in Minnesota.

[-] MrJukes@lemmy.today 26 points 11 months ago

Poo Poo Point is a very popular hiking spot just outside Seattle. Lots of people go hang gliding there.

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 22 points 11 months ago

And I thought pigeons were bad.

[-] EABOD25@lemm.ee 24 points 11 months ago

You should add Intercourse, Pennsylvania and Slickpoo, Idaho

[-] KrapKake@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

1000003080

Don't forget Penile, KY

[-] linkinkampf19@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

Add Bird-in-Hand and Blue Ball, PA to that list.

I will never make it to Pee Pee Creek on time. I can't hold it this long !

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

If you're lucky, there might be a pupuseria on the way.

[-] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Make your own.

Finally the answer to the reason for the lemmy 3 day no poop challenge!

[-] Jimbo@yiffit.net 5 points 11 months ago

As far as I'm concerned, this is canon

[-] xx3rawr@sh.itjust.works 6 points 11 months ago

he travelled exactly 69 miles each day of his journey

He remembers passing Sharts Road during his journey

[-] RangerJosie@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago

So what do you call this trip?

Sounding America?

The Great American Colonoscopy?

We need a medical professional to weigh in on this.

[-] roguetrick@lemmy.world 23 points 11 months ago

The perineal trail.

[-] MrNesser@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

Wish there was a uretha pass you could go through

[-] capt_wolf@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

I better be able to get a pu pu platter somewhere along the way...

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 13 points 11 months ago

I've always wanted to try a pu pu platter. My wife kept saying it was a dumb idea and for years we never ordered it. My local Chinese restaurant advertised a 'Flaming Pu Pu Platter' and I never cared what it would have tasted like, I just wanted to say I ordered it.

I finally decided on just ordering it one day and I told my wife I didn't care, I'm getting it.

The lady who owned the place then told me that they got rid of it a year before because no one ordered it any more.

Greatest disappointment in my life :(

I've never been able to find a 'Flaming Pu Pu Platter' again.

[-] MutilationWave@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Pu Pu Platter was really good when I ordered it because of the name. Kind of like a Chinese appetizer sampler.

[-] herrcaptain@lemmy.ca 8 points 11 months ago

I guess this makes the Midwest the taint of America.

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 8 points 11 months ago

This is not what makes it that.

[-] Alph4d0g@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 11 months ago

I've taken a good portion of that route and there are a few more places deserving of the poo poo label.

[-] Stalinwolf@lemmy.ca 6 points 11 months ago

Weird that you pass through so much of Ohio and don't find any peepee or poopoo within.

[-] FancyLad@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

As an Ohio transplant, thank you?

[-] nieceandtows@programming.dev 5 points 11 months ago

A noble aspiration

[-] NewAgeOldPerson@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Ha. Poo poo point is a good hike. No relevance but given the community, I said it.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Hey I get it, sometimes you got to do a hike to loosen everything up down there.

[-] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 4 points 11 months ago

And here I just used up my PTO.

[-] bitchkat@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Now I'm more motivated to by a van a turn it into a camper.

[-] lemonmelon@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Is anyone else bothered that there are two number ones and one number two represented?

[-] morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 11 months ago

it reflects the balance of my bodily needs, no objection on my part
