I have been traveling internationally for work for about 10 years now, and every time I go into a global north country I get mistreated because of my nationality. The only reason this is news is because it happened to a white person
The worst part is that I know people who have been dealt a much worse hand and treated way worse, and instead of being reasonably upset with the country that mistreated them, they say "oh well it is what it is", and then blame it on our country not getting it's shit together.

Honestly I was already presuming since the election that I wasn't going to spend time in Mni Sota Makoce this year, but like... Someone around my age and appearance, from the same country as me, getting terrorized, harassed and humiliated by government thugs for five hours and then deported, all over a single innocuous meme? The chances of me going this year went from like 5% to 0%, and the rest of my family feels basically the same way.
The number of Norwegians visiting Seppoland has gone down the toilet since Trump got re-elected. Every day it really feels more and more like we're seeing the rise of an actual Seppo Sakoku.
