It is kind of fascinating when they do this. They want to spread hate about their enemy, so they will pretend to be them in order to spray paint scary slogans and such, but they are weirdly non-committal to it all. They don't bother to make it sound like anything a pro-Hamas person would actually say, and they also don't just make it really foul and violent either. It's so flaccid.

When the public sees that my enemy has defaced this empty billboard, their sense of justice will drive them to my side

it's that fun evangelical brainworm combo of monstrous politics but also being super uptight about swearing, like they'd never write "fuck israel" even as a false flag

[-] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 12 points 6 days ago

Which is wild to me, because pretty sure the big JC was more against lying and bearing false witness than he ever was about saying swears.

i wonder what mammon has to say on the matter, can't imagine that guy gives a fuck about swearing

Supermoon got me feeling froggy, I'm gonna go ahead and say it; Taco Bell is not that bad and it has passable vegan-v options compared to other fast food. eric-andre

I don't think I know any pro-Palestinian person, online or in person, that would say "Glory to Hamas". Even among us Hamas supporting Hexbears, it's just such a weird and uncharacteristic way to phrase it.

The little Palestine flag in black and white is kinda really funny.

Quite common among non-American and arab users here (the dwindling population of them anyway. LoveYourself just deleted their account).

Glory to Hamas. They are the bravest Heroes of our time; absolutely nothing less

Glory to Hamas, Glory to Ansar Allah; Death to America, Death to isnotreal

https://hexbear.net/comment/6486820

By the way, note that while you are 100% free to chant "Glory to Hamas, Glory to Ansar Allah" while also reciting the Sarkha and setting the piSSraeli flag on fire during the routine protest in any major South African city

all glory to hamas, all glory to hezbollah, death to israel

You wouldn't anonymously write it on a billboard just to piss off Zionist nazi freaks?

[-] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 6 days ago

I wanted to post "Happy October 7 to those who celebrate" but I think that's too tone deaf considering that October 7 brought about the intensification of the genocide in Gaza.

[-] CancelledKirk@hexbear.net 5 points 6 days ago

Happy Gaza freedom day to you too Comrade. The day the prison wall was overcome!

It's a pro-ukraine person aping "Slava Ukraini"

[-] Hermes@hexbear.net 6 points 6 days ago

It could very well be some niche internet group, we have a lot of similar phrases that don't get used outside of Hexbear. In my opinion, this means nothing in isolation.

from the artist mentioned in the abc article

Nina Sanadze

Visual artist Bio

I acknowledge the traditional owners and sovereign custodians of the land on which I am situated, the peoples of the Boonwurrung language group of the Kulin nation. I extend my respect to their Ancestors and all First Peoples and Elders past, present, and future

Nina Sanadze is a Soviet-born, Melbourne-based artist who works with monuments, archives and political action. Sanadze presents narratives built upon personal stories from within the experience of conflict; a wall of remembering that acts as a fortification against repeating histories. She believes in the power of art and beauty to bring people together and that peace-building is achieved through proactive work, determination, negotiation, and the forging of narratives designed to unite competing ideologies

So this person is putting an exhibition on commemorating those who died on oct 7, and thats all well and good, but earlier this year a tiny Palestine flag had to be covered at the national gallery because it was too controversial

You know what, if somebody says ‘glory to Hamas’ sincerely… I don’t care, because the IOF are so much worse that it’s not even a fucking contest.

[-] manuallybreathing@lemmy.ml 20 points 6 days ago

interesting that the zionist freaks going around painting David's Shield onto stores and houses with Palestine flags in fitzroy has never made headlines

I've seen a few Oct 7: do it again stickers around since 2023, they had pokemon on them

Anyone else recall someone got a licence plate that read OCT 7 in like december 2023, and vicroads recalled it?

Gotta love the graffito who rolls around with a paint roller and doesn't know how to paint an even layer

[-] CancelledKirk@hexbear.net 8 points 6 days ago

Bad argument. If you've ever tried something like this, you'd know it's more difficult than it would seem.

fun word fact: graffito is the singular of graffiti, not a word for a graffiti artist
