So this is why jumble.top is broken.

[-] blame@hexbear.net 2 points 33 minutes ago

it's probably a patreon change and not a change that the podcasters did. At least I am guessing Patreon doesn't hvae an option that is "How hard do you want your content be to steal? [x] Easy [ ] Hard"

[-] Florn@hexbear.net 7 points 1 hour ago

Without my slop, I'll be forced to listen to Hasan at work

[-] WizardOfLoneliness@hexbear.net 12 points 2 hours ago

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh is black wolf feed a pirate chapo feed

like sorry i've been here years and never once thought to interrogate whatever vlack woolf whatever was

[-] dead@hexbear.net 8 points 1 hour ago

Black Wolf is an ironic reference to the Turkish Grey Wolves, a fascist, nationalist party in Turkey. Chapo was like intending to mock Turkish fascists.

[-] EllenKelly@hexbear.net 15 points 3 hours ago

There's a podcast?? 🤓😱

[-] sweatersocialist@hexbear.net 11 points 2 hours ago

yeah it’s called pod save america. check it out

[-] john_brown@hexbear.net 45 points 5 hours ago

this explains why no new trueanon and chapo eps popped up at the end of the week

they got me fucked up if they think I'm paying for content made by people who make more than I do in a year every month pirate-jammin

[-] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 17 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

for TrueAnon the Black Epstein Ferd telegram works and uploads fast (~~although the latest tip line episode released today hasn't yet but I'm sure it'll be on there soon~~ just uploaded)

[-] john_brown@hexbear.net 9 points 4 hours ago

sick, do you have a link? The subreddit is banned unfortunately

[-] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 10 points 4 hours ago
[-] john_brown@hexbear.net 6 points 3 hours ago

Unbelievably based, thanks. If you ever need help moving within the state of Texas and maybe even Louisiana I will be johnny on the spot

I can also turn a wrench if needed

[-] Monk3brain3@hexbear.net 15 points 5 hours ago

I stopped listening even when it was free lol.

Tbh the only podcasts I listen to is radio war nerd. Behind the bastards can be entertaining. Mostly I listen to whatever comes up on my new pipe feed

[-] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 7 points 3 hours ago

Radio War Nerd is good, Behind the Bastards used to be better when they had a larger pool of bastards to choose from, I feel like they've already done the juiciest shitheads of history plus Robert Fedvans can have some truly bad takes. Lions Led By Donkeys can be good too, especially when talking about older topics, but anything Russia/Soviet Union related brings out the host's russophobia. Plus he's a veteran and way too charitable towards American military bullshit so I really pick and choose which episodes I listen to

[-] john_brown@hexbear.net 21 points 4 hours ago

war nerd is good, behind the bastards I cannot tolerate because of the lib/CIA takes, the horrific "humor", and the general vibe (bad)

[-] Monk3brain3@hexbear.net 12 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

yeah behind the bastards can be super cringe. but I only listen when they cover something interesting that the left doesn't really care about. Like the Oprah series was interesting. Honestly some of the stuff the host said was a bit eyebrow raising. Thought it was just me. Like a lot of the left got shit for being wrong about Russia invading Ukraine. And the host got on his high horse about that. But can anybody explain to me how being wrong about Russia invading Ukraine puts the responsibility of Russia invading Ukraine on the left. I mean Hasan even did a fucking fundraiser to get the shitheads off his back which was lame as hell. Liberals are insane and you don't placate them over their mental issues. Anyway ill stop I definitely went off on a tangent.

[-] john_brown@hexbear.net 12 points 3 hours ago

yeah the libs trying to make the ukraine invasion a dunk are pathetic. Repeating the state department's claims that had been wrong for years doesn't make you a geopolitics understander it just makes you a simp. That's Robert Federal Evans for you though

[-] buckykat@hexbear.net 8 points 3 hours ago

Respect the Dead is kinda like Behind the Bastards but better and gayer

[-] unbanshee@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 hours ago

And Cae-er.

[-] Dessa@hexbear.net 16 points 4 hours ago

War nerd gets right to the point and stays on it. Wish more podcasters did this

[-] PaulSmackage@hexbear.net 21 points 4 hours ago

The point: wherever Gary Brecher is and what sickness he has.

[-] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 9 points 3 hours ago

Gary Brecher solidarity bolso-pain

inexplicable maladies

[-] MolotovHalfEmpty@hexbear.net 11 points 3 hours ago

Also poetry.

[-] Monk3brain3@hexbear.net 5 points 3 hours ago

Definitely the most informative podcast for me.

[-] RedWizard@hexbear.net 3 points 2 hours ago

Set up AudioBookShelf, pull the feed, then open your feed and share the feed URL. This gets you around the token but it does put you on the hook for hosting and serving the feed.

[-] GnastyGnuts@hexbear.net 27 points 5 hours ago

If jumble is done for then I'm basically done listening to half the podcasts I listen to. Even beyond getting the premium content for free, the main sites these podcasts get posted on (soundcloud, podbean, apple, etc.) run like total crap for me and freeze regularly while I'm listening.

[-] TerminalEncounter@hexbear.net 34 points 6 hours ago

I'm surprised if they did it intentionally, they've never seemed to care all that much about pirate feeds - except the movie and the 8 track or casette of a podcast, that they seemed to care about. But the actual patreon shows, like Chris Wade has showed up in blackwolffeed so they're at least aware and besides this never seemed to make any moves about pirate feeds for years

[-] ClimateStalin@hexbear.net 32 points 6 hours ago

Yeah honestly my guess is it’s a change patreon made site wide

[-] ChestRockwell@hexbear.net 2 points 1 hour ago

5-4 was talking about this

[-] hotcouchguy@hexbear.net 10 points 3 hours ago

Would make sense to do that now, Patreon is basically the easiest cut when money is tight

[-] ClimateStalin@hexbear.net 6 points 3 hours ago

It was literally the first thing I went to when I had to make cuts. Still kept a couple of them but I listen to a lot of fucking podcasts

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 23 points 5 hours ago

this is the kind of thing that it would be sort of weird for patreon to let people choose.

[-] Aceivan@hexbear.net 19 points 6 hours ago

where were you when jumble.top was kill

[-] buttwater@hexbear.net 14 points 6 hours ago

Listening on SoundCloud is annoying cuz it always loses my place in the episode and trying to goes the time stamp is the opposite of fun

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 5 points 5 hours ago

Why not use a download app that goes into your browser and allows you to download from sites.

[-] SuperZutsuki@hexbear.net 3 points 5 hours ago

I'm curious why you don't use a podcast app like apple podcasts or something instead of listening on soundcloud?

[-] buttwater@hexbear.net 3 points 2 hours ago

I use antenna pod but the black wolf feed stopped updating

[-] HarryLime@hexbear.net 17 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Probably not.

edit: wait, when and where is this post even from? The chapo subreddit has been banned for five years and /r/blackwolffeed's posts are restricted. What is this even a screenshot of?

[-] krolden@lemmy.ml 13 points 6 hours ago

Nah bro it was only 20 days ago

[-] radio_free_asgarthr@hexbear.net 14 points 6 hours ago

No, but that is probably also why jumble.top is down. That was their MO, of just listing the patreon links from another feed.

[-] Azarova@hexbear.net 6 points 4 hours ago

I wondered why my feeds were timing out. Tragic. oooaaaaaaauhhh

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 15 points 6 hours ago

How much does each of them make a year? Maybe they reached that point where they felt entitled to make even more.

[-] dat_math@hexbear.net 33 points 6 hours ago

I think there's also potentially a more charitable interpretation if patreon itself is incentivizing this as well

[-] GnastyGnuts@hexbear.net 19 points 5 hours ago

This strikes me as more likely.

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 17 points 6 hours ago

That's how they get ya.
