I think the AI believes a pompom is roughly equivalent to a child's head
It does accurately depict the common death and dismemberment of children due to motor vehicles in the US, so you have to give them some credit.

I actually think a plurality of Americans would glance over this image and not see anything wrong. It's such a noise of Norman Rockwell patriotism it would override the shriveled, atrophied part of their brain that detects details
