New achievement: How did it get there?

[-] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 38 points 9 months ago

Now that is a structurally sound butt plug. Just the kind of thing I've been looking for.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 30 points 9 months ago

Not really the buttplug type. However, I grew up in a college town where half the campus buildings were brutalist, so it still speaks to me.

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 28 points 9 months ago

For $24 extra you can have your college logo engraved on the base.

[-] Starbuck@lemmy.world 52 points 9 months ago

In case you aren’t joking, brutalist is an architectural style, commonly seen in Washington DC and associated with government buildings. It’s not masochistic, despite brutal being in the name of

[-] bitwaba@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

commonly seen in Washington DC

Britalism was an architectural movement that started in the post-WW2 UK.

It became pretty common for ~20 years and was very popular in communist countries due to it being cheap and no frills (commonly associated with western extravagance).

There are tons of britalism examples all around London.

The name comes from the French word "brut" meaning "raw" as in raw concrete.
