Insider sources say Trump may allow Musk to look at a rhombus if he behaves himself

[-] astronot@hexbear.net 70 points 11 months ago

Fucking lol. Bet this is just another way for Elon to grift some more sweet sweet DoD money. Suddenly the army is going to "need" 10k milspec cybertrucks at $10million a pop. You know, for efficiency.

Eventually Trump's gonna go in front of the media and say something like "We gotta get new missiles. Elon's making new missiles - future generation hyper 100 times sound so very, very fast. $500 billion contract to HyperMissile..." There's no information about HyperMissile anywhere. But HyperMissile.com was created the day before and the only thing on the website is a ginormous poop emoji.

Ah, Musk has fired me as head of marketing and hired you instead. Drat.

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 18 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

It's so easy to predict what Musk will name his things lmao

Surprised Tesla isn't renamed AutoX and when he does planes AeroX.

WeaponX is also extremely Musky for a weapons division.

Wasn’t that the naming scheme?

Model S

Model 3

Model X

Model Y

Edit: I had no idea Tesla actually made the model Y since it looks exactly like the model X but is bigger

[-] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 4 points 11 months ago

Wait is that for real? So cringe catgirl-disgust

The American version of the V2 rocket killing more people in production than it did in combat.

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 16 points 11 months ago

people

Slave laborers. I just needed to be a bit pedantic.

---

I wanted to leave a Wikipedia link and quote here but pages had no easily quotable stuff. I do not want to link to a .mil page but it's convenient.

German V-Weapons: Desperate Measures > National Museum of the United States Air Force™ > Display

The Nazis used forced labor to build V-weapons and an estimated 20,000 people died producing them in brutal work-camp conditions.

As if "forced labor" wasn't creepy enough - the following paragraph makes things even creepier. I wonder if that was intentional. Hey, they might have used ~~slaves~~ forced labor but there was significant technological advancement!

Both the V-1 and V-2 foreshadowed future weapons development. The V-1 Buzz Bomb's pilotless, self-guided aircraft features reappeared in later cruise missiles, and the V-2, as the first practical rocket-guided ballistic missile, pointed the way toward nuclear-armed ballistic missiles..

First you need the period of Elon Musk being publicly anti-grift until he realises it's a grift and he can get in on it. He's gonna go out and talk about the mic being corrupt and then, in a few days, when someone has explained it with enough bazinga terms, will he understand that yes it is corrupt and would you like some money Elon?

Then he's gotta fuck up the grift somehow. Tale as old as time.

[-] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 20 points 11 months ago

Sadly, as much as I hope for really funny things to happen, this will be what he does.

Something stupid happens to the MIC or the MIC loses money or somebody in this admin gets shot

Good things do still happen

[-] ProgAimerGirl@hexbear.net 48 points 11 months ago

elon walks into the pentagon and says take me to the black budget wing and they walk him into a janitor's closet and he's never seen again

lathe-of-heaven trump-anguish

Woke disgrace "General" Milly gave our amazing rocket car friend Elon the "Khashoggi Special"...not good folks! They ruined the beautiful duffel bags! At least he'll still fit in the trunk of a wonderful new "CYBERTRUCK."

A real shame for our tremendous Country! Oh well bye bye Mr Musk! He didn't fly so good, does Vivek wanna try next?

we're X amount of days before an Elon Musk property gets mysteriously drone striked

[-] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 34 points 11 months ago

If the pentagon tried to kill him Michael Hastings-style, nobody would be able to tell if Elon's Tesla just did that.

They're going to find Allen Dulles hooked up like Mr House and then get ventilated.

[-] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 55 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Am I supposed to care about the sanctity of the pentagon? Libs really slept through Genocide then awoke when Trump attempted to stick a wrench in the genocide machine (To be clear, Trump loves genocide and thinks his genius wrench is the best there has ever been and will improve the machine bigly)

[-] SaniFlush@hexbear.net 54 points 11 months ago

He's going to remove one of the sides and make it The Square

[-] QuillcrestFalconer@hexbear.net 25 points 11 months ago

He's gonna turn it into a pentagram

[-] RedWizard@hexbear.net 46 points 11 months ago

A decorated Pentagon official stands in front of the doors, blocked by a scrawny broccoli headed 20 year old.

Sorry, Mr. Musk is busy in here uhhh, can you like comeback another time?

The official walks away dejected, head low, kicking rocks as he goes. And so ended Americas global apartheid, as its maintainers fold under the "rule of law".

[-] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 43 points 11 months ago

Either the military is completely inept or they want this to happen.

The imperial decline is palpable

[-] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 13 points 11 months ago

Whatever they break, it's only so they can privatize it. So its more a case of they want it and are kind of inept, but this is going to make money for whoever they choose to reward.

Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:

The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

  5. Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.

  6. Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.

  9. AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
